About me.

Hi, my name is Jennie (legally Jennifer) and I’m a licensed professional counselor (Colorado only). I know what it’s like to be stuck. It’s like you know what the next step is but just can’t seem to make yourself take that step. Or you have that task that’s just sitting there waiting for you. You know it won’t take much to do it but there’s something holding you back. People around you offer their advice and try to encourage you but they just don’t understand. You need someone who gets it.

As an individual:

What do you need to know about me? I like to read. I am somewhat artistic but have no actual skills. That doesn’t stop me from trying. I’ve been privileged to have some really great experiences not available to others, but these experiences have given me empathy and insight. And I’m thankful for the opportunities.

As a Professional:

My work journey has been long and varied. I joined the mental health field as a second career. I worked fulltime as front desk support for a community mental health provider while going to graduate school to become a counselor. I worked my way to case manager, to resource specialist for those experiencing homelessness or at risk of doing so, to case manager at a crisis line/walk-in center, before finally becoming a crisis counselor upon graduation. I worked overnights for over seven years (I feel you, shift workers!). I’ve worked a variety of jobs from blue collar to locally-owned businesses to corporate America.

Boils Down to:

There’s not too much I haven’t seen or heard. I’ve had interactions with all walks of life and am not easily shocked or offended. Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to know that I can give you a safe space to be you without having to wear that mask you put on each day.
